Chisholm earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Florida and a Master of Planning and Urban Design from the University of Miami. Community leadership has also been an integral part of his professional and personal life through mentorship, membership, and leadership roles with numerous organizations over the past four decades.

His previous community involvement includes serving as Chairman of the American Institute of Architects in Miami and on the State of Florida Board of Directors, as well as leadership positions with the Beacon Council Board of Trustees and Board of Directors, the United Way Tocqueville Society, and as a Founding Member of the American Planning Association. Reflecting on his appointment, Chisholm said, "I am truly honored to join the Coral Gables Museum’s Board of Directors and support its mission of preserving and celebrating our city's heritage. As a longtime Coral Gables resident, I look forward to contributing my experience to help advance the Museum's important work, strengthen its impact within the community, and ensure that our exemplary history, architecture, and cultural legacy continue to inspire future generations."

“I have known Bob Chisholm for many, many years. It seems everything that he puts his mind to, whether it be historic preservation, planning and zoning, architecture, or urban planning, results in a positive outcome. Bob will be an incredible asset to our Board, which will result in benefits to this City Beautiful,” said Wayne “Chip” Withers, Founder and Chair of the Coral Gables Museum’s Board of Directors.

Chisholm’s appointment further strengthens the Museum’s Board as it continues to advance its mission, deepen its connection to the community, and preserve and share the architectural and cultural heritage of Coral Gables.
